About Dobbin, TX - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Dobbin, Texas is a small community of just over 200 residents located on Lake Creek in northwestern Montgomery County, right at the junction of the old Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe, Burlington Northern and Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific railroads. It was originally established in 1880 under the name Bobbin, although at the time it just consisted of a post office. Five years later the town had four sawmills, a gristmill, a flour mill, a school, a church, two general stores, a doctor, physician, and a population of 100. In 1909 the town name was changed to Dobbin, which name it retains to this day.
Although Dobbin may be tiny, it has one business which attracts clients from all over the area. Olde Dobbin Station, which was originally am oil pumping station in the early 1900s and later became famous for its artesian well, has been restored by new owners and is now used as a facility for weddings and receptions. Dobbin residents also hold events at the Dobbin Community Center, and Holder's Old-Fashioned Burgers is a popular local restaurant which is famed for its award-winning barbecue. Dobbin's climate is typical for eastern Texas, with mild winters, wet springs and hot, humid summers.
